Dressed Up Barbecue Recipes on a Budget

Feeding a family can be costly these days, but it doesn’t have to be bland and boring on a budget! Here at Claude’s Sauces, we’re all about good food that is kind to a family budget. Here’s the top 5 ways to dress up that meat to turn any cut into a crowd pleaser!

Claude's Sauces BBQ Brisket Marinade and a crockpot with a boston butt inside

Pulled Pork

Roast a Boston Butt low and slow in your oven—with plenty of Claude's Sauces signature BBQ Brisket Marinade of course! This creates a delicious pulled pork that just can’t be beat.

Keep in mind! You will need to leave your oven on for several hours, 3 hours for an 8lb. roast, so plan to do it on a weekend where you’re shuffling around the house.

Claude's Sauces Fajita Marinade and a skirt steak sliced into edible pieces

Skirt Steak

Skirt steak is easily found and a very affordable red meat that offers as much taste as it offers a challenge at times for tenderness. Skirt steak is also the perfect cut of beef for fajitas or barbecue. Giving, at the very least, one hour to marinate with our Claude's Sauces Fajita Marinade gives you southwest flavor and takes care of any tough parts! Just fry it briefly over high heat on the grill, and you’ve got a flavorful steak that’s more affordable than rib-eye or filet.

Claude's Sauces Thick & Rich Steak Sauce and a cooked hanger steak

Hanger Steak

If you’re craving steak on a budget, Hanger steak is a great way to go. It’s popular in French cuisine and is much more affordable than steaks like tenderloin or ribeye. It can be tough if overcooked and is best seared or broiled to medium-rare. Just be sure to slice it thinly against the grain. Now…it can be hard to find as there are only two steaks per animal, so if you find it…stock up! And don't forget our Claude's Thick & Rich Steak Sauce!

Claude's Hickory BBQ Meat Marinade and Hot & Spicy Sauce with grilled chicken

Chicken Legs and Thighs

Chicken is an amazing affordable meat for barbecue nights…but the high demand for skinless, boneless chicken breast has driven up the price. Breasts are meaty, but they can lack flavor and be pretty dry. The thighs, legs, and wings are cheaper, easier to cook well, and are much tastier! Try your wings with our Claude's Hot & Spicy BBQ Sauce (just brush on the last few minutes) or try marinating chicken thighs in our Claude's Sauces BBQ Hickory Meat Marinade!

Claude's BBQ Brisket and Western Style BBQ Sauce overtop shredded beef brisket

Shredded BBQ Beef

Love a BBQ brisket? Don’t want to bother with slow-smoking? Try using beef chuck in a braise instead and make a fantastic BBQ beef dish with our original Claude's Sauces BBQ Brisket Marinade! Braising means you can easily cook on the stovetop—just shred and then serve on a soft bun!
