Feeding a family can be costly these days, but it doesn’t have to be bland and boring on a budget! Here at Claude’s Sauces, we’re all about good food that is kind to a family budget. Here’s the top 5 ways to dress up that meat to turn any cut into a crowd pleaser!

Pulled Pork

Roast a Boston Butt low and slow in your oven—with plenty of seasonings, of course! This creates a delicious pulled pork that just can’t be beat. (Warning: You will need to leave your oven on for several hours…13 hours for an 8 lb roast, so plan to do it on a weekend where you’re shuffling around the house.)

Skirt Steak

Skirt steak is easily found and affordable as a steak and is perfect for fajitas or barbecue. Just blast it briefly over high heat on the grill, and you’ve got a flavorful steak that’s totally more affordable than rib-eye or filet.

Hanger Steak

If you’re craving steak on a budget, Hanger steak is a great way to go. It’s popular in French cuisine and is much more affordable than steaks like tenderloin or ribeye. It can be tough if overcooked and is best seared or broiled to medium-rare. Just be sure to slice it thinly against the grain. Now…it can be hard to find as there are only two steaks per animal, so if you find it…stock up!

Chicken Legs and Thighs

Chicken is an amazing affordable meat for barbecue nights…but the high demand for skinless, boneless chicken breast has driven up the price. Breasts are meaty, but they can lack flavor and be pretty dry. The thighs, legs, and wings are cheaper, easier to cook well, and are much tastier! Try your wings with our hot & spicy barbecue sauce or thighs with our hickory meat marinade!

Shredded BBQ Beef

Love a BBQ brisket? Don’t want to bother with slow-smoking? Try using beef chuck in a braise instead and make a fantastic BBQ Beef dish with our original Beef Brisket Marinade! Braising means you can easily cook on the stovetop—just shred and then serve on a soft bun!
