A Heartwarming BBQ Brisket

Smoked Brisket with salad and eggs

It was late Saturday night, almost 9pm, when the notification that a customer had sent us a message through our Claude’s Facebook page lit up our Facebook app.

First instinct was to leave it until the morning, but habits winning out, the message was opened and checked.

The question/comment came from someone out in California. A fellow by the name of Jeffrey asking if there were any stores in Sacramento that carried our product? We quickly answered, happy to pass along that we’re now in all Sprout’s Farmers Markets locations nationwide.

Two hours later we received another notification. It was Jeffrey again, but this time he had sent us a picture of him at a Sprout’s location, happily grabbing two bottles of our Claude’s BBQ Brisket Marinade

Outstanding result for quick reply on Facebook we thought to ourselves and with that, scheduled Jeffrey’s picture for social media posting on Easter Sunday, to get full mileage from the captured moment.

We also told Jeffrey, in parting words, that he was free to send us any pictures of what he might cook up. He replied he would, and he’d also give us a bit of a back story along with snaps he’d take of his brisket. By all measure, the customer service given was a success and we shut down for the evening. Satisfied we’d gone far enough with the extra mile and its results.

Come Monday we were met with picture’s from Jeffrey's brisket he’d smoked on Easter Sunday and again we were delighted to share more material on social media pages, after all here’s a fan that not only smoked a brisket with our Claude’s BBQ Brisket Marinade and took pictures, but also rushed out before midnight, late Saturday night to buy two bottles.

And we kept reading.

It turns out Jeffrey grew up in western Oklahoma and he grew up in a family where Claude’s BBQ Brisket Marinade was a staple item. Reading more, Jeffrey opened to us that we were synonymous with moments he’d share with his father growing up. The two would often smoke brisket together.

We couldn’t have understood any of that looking at the picture Jeffrey sent us when he found our BBQ Brisket Marinade just before midnight on a Saturday night. We just boiled this down to Jeffrey being a big fan. It was all much deeper than that.

We’ve been told often that Claude’s BBQ Brisket Marinade is a big part of people’s memories of growing up in the southwest. With us now on sale at all Sprout’s locations nationwide, we’re better able to service those that might have moved away.

Jeffrey ended his story to us by letting us know that his father had recently passed away. This was his first Easter brisket he would smoke without his dad by his side. Thanks to staying up late answering messages on a Saturday night, we were able to be there with him.
